Okay, Long and Short Romance Reviews is celebrating their birthday with a month long contest! You can find out the details here (links go live the 21st):

AuthorIsland.com is also celebrating a birthday with a big contest (in addition to the many cool ones already running). Just navigate there and click on "contests." :-)

I feel like I'm the only person who hasn't seen The Dark Knight yet. I had a busy week and tickets were hard to come by. I'm not someone who can go to a movie in the middle of the night and still function as a sentient being. In fact, haven't seen any cool movies since there were actually cool movies TO see, but hoping to make a start on that next week with Mama Mia (waiting to see The Dark Knight with my son).

It's really frustrating that there was NOTHING to see for SO long and now there's like five that I want to see, plus some smoking hot novel releases (and the Stargate SG-1 straight to dvd release!). Linnea Sinclair's latest releases soon and then there's the Twilight book. So I may not see everything in the theaters.

Okay, was doing some research on book videos/teasers this week for the non-fiction and created a few that I have posted here:

Some people can do all kinds of cool things with pictures and stuff, but I'm pretty much at the primer level with mine and I'm okay with that, probably because I GOT A Wii!!!!!!!!! My very own Wii!

Okay, it's a birthday present a little early and I can't believe how excited I am that when my son goes back to college, that I'll still be able to play Mario Kart. This week I unlocked all my mirrors. It's pretty freaky driving my maps in mirror mode, but fun, too.

If you haven't ventured into Mario world ever (which I pretty much hadn't until now), it's pretty strange. I mean, they have all these cartoon characters, with happy, happy colors...until you get shelled or drive off into LAVA. It's like friendly in a really dark kind of way. It's amazingly detailed and all the characters have personality and different driving skills. It's just...wow. So creative, so in an odd way, playing it feeds my creativity, too. (I tell the hubby it helps me relax, and it kind of does, or at least it distracts me. It's not really that relaxing to get shelled and thwomped or chomped.)

I only have two games and so far don't want anything else, except WiiFit, the exercise game. Okay, I don't get Nintendo AT ALL. Their business model makes no sense to me. Why create demand for something and then not have EVEN CLOSE to enough product for people to buy? Isn't selling product the way they make their money? Why are they creating an environment where other people make more off reselling their product than they do?

I just think its totally weird.

But I love the Wii.

And I'd really like to get WiiFit, but not enough to pay twice as much as the list price.

If you haven't seen Dr. Horrible's Singing Blog, you're missing out. Que fun!

My TBR hasn't really gone down, because this week was spent on family stuff, non-fiction book stuff and novel stuff. And playing with my iPhone. The new third party apps are pretty cool. I was able to download ereader, which totally rocks as an ebook reader. I also love Shazam, which "hears" music and identifies it for me. And, another confession coming, I like Bubble Wrap! Totally useless, but funny.

So that's my week. Instead of BUYING Super Monkey Ball for my iPhone, I just kind of WAS the monkey. **gg**
Perilously yours,
Pauline
