I've been working on a couple of non-fiction books with a friend of mine, Jamie Engle. One is a business of writing book and the other is a promotion book for writers/authors. As part of my research, I have ventured into the world of social networking. Wow. I've always known the internet was a wild and woolly place, but...wow.In my research, I came across this place called BlogLog. It's supposed to help you manage sites. But there are a lot of layers to it. Then there's Ping.fm. Also designed to help you manage blogs and sites. One is a beta site (Ping) and they were kind of enough to let me play in their backyard. There are lots of layers and levels to social networking. I'll let you know if I make it out alive.
Let's see, if you're waiting for Stargate Atlantis to start back up, then the wait is almost over. It starts this Friday (July 11th). Last season also releases today. I wasn't sure I liked last season that well, but when I went back and looked at the episode list, I realized that I did like most of the episodes. I was sorry to read on Gateworld that Amanda Tapping is leaving the show, though I do understand why. Sanctuary is pretty cool and it would have to be fun for her to work on something new after so many years in Stargate World. And I can see how having Woolsey in charge of the Atlantis Expedition would cause all kinds of conflict.
But I still don't like it! In the real world, Ronan would probably klll him right off the bat. **gg**
Speaking of drama, I forgot to post this picture from my cruise. This was the seat in front of me:

Is it just me or does this seem...an odd choice for a friendly flight?
Okay, on the reading front, I finally finished Mr. Monk Goes Into Space. Very funny and once again, like visiting an extended episode of the show. I hear last season released today, too, by the way.
If you visit my website, and check my What's Next page, you'll find the working title of the new novel. And yes, I AM working on it! Also getting ready to send out a newsletter with the rest of last week's short story in there. You can read the first half on my website. Just check out "Adventures in Reading." I'll post the second half when I update the site, but you get it faster in the ezine. :-)
I'm looking forward to these books releasing soon:
Shades of Dark by Linnea Sinclair
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer (last of Twilight books, well, if you don't count Midnight Sun, Edward's POV)
And I'm looking forward to the last Stargate SG-1 movie (so shoot me! I love alternate reality and time line/time travel stuff!)
Okay, so I'm also looking forward to the new batman movie, plus the new mummy movie, but I have to go out and see those. The Stargate movie is coming to ME.
I like that.
Feel free to stop by and tell me what you're looking forward to! Or what you're reading right now. :-)
Perilously yours,
Pauline
